Inspired by the principles of the Coaching Approach, the Coaching and Mentoring community draws verified local and regional experts in Africa into a professional community as they work through resolutions of health system challenges.  ACS partnered with the Strategic Purchasing Africa Resource Center (SPARC) and Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator (HSSA) to test a technical assistance approach to connect health experts from across the African continent to continuously collaborate, mentor, and engage with one another. 

The Coaching and Mentoring community is comprised of a group of African experts committed to building a unique technical assistance approach.  The community tests its approach in different countries, shares experiences back to the group, and contributes to the collective advancement of skills and knowledge. 

The FORCE is a group of CMC members who engage as thought partners to co-develop and improve the coaching and mentoring approach. Over time, the FORCE aims to become a formal institution to support the Coaching and Mentoring community.

It is envisioned that through the FORCE the value of the coaching, mentoring and facilitation approach will be recognized and increase demand by countries and development partners. This should in turn increase the credibility of the FORCE as a go-to resource for experts with coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills. It should also increase the FORCE’ credibility as a recognized and respected community responsible for the continuous development of the Community of Practice and body of knowledge for health financing technical experts in Africa.
